- The Guardia di Finanza (finance guard) is the arm of the Italian police, organized on military lines, which specializes in the fight against economic, financial or fiscal crime (such as fraud, tax evasion or money laundering), and in the surveillance of land and sea borders (against smuggling, drug trafficking and illegal immigration). Set up with this title in 1881, it has uniforms marked with yellow flashes, called fiamme gialle (yellow flames), and has come to be known by this title.

Its duties include the prevention, investigation, and reporting of tax evasion and financial crimes, oversight of compliance with finance laws, and maritime surveillance in matters of financial policing.
