- Un festival internacional de tres semanas de música, teatro, danza etc., que se viene celebrando cada agosto en Edimburgo desde 1947. Muchos turistas vienen a ver las actuaciones y los conciertos, incluida la gran cantidad que no forma parte oficial del festival y que se conoce como Edinburgh Fringe. - Desde 1947 tiene lugar cada año en Edinburgh, la capital de Escocia, el Edinburgh International Festival. Se celebra en torno a mediados de agosto y dura tres semanas. En el marco de este festival tienen lugar numerosos espectáculos de tipo cultural: teatro, música, ópera y baile. Al mismo tiempo se celebran un Film Festival, un Jazz Festival y un Book Festival. Paralelamente al Festival oficial se ha ido desarrollando un Festival Fringe con alrededor de 1.000 espectáculos diferentes que se caracteriza por su vivacidad y su capacidad de innovación.
