- Feuilletons radiophoniques ou télévisés très populaires dans les pays anglo-saxons. Ils racontent la vie quotidienne de plusieurs familles ou d'un groupe de personnages fictifs et sont en général courts (30 minutes) et diffusés tous les jours aux heures de grande écoute. Coronation St (depuis 1960), Brookside et Eastenders figurent parmi les plus connus en Grande-Bretagne ; As the World Turns, Days of Our Lives, entre autres, sont très appréciés aux États-Unis. On les appelle des soaps parce qu'ils étaient, à l'origine, subventionnés par des grandes marques de lessive.
