- In Spain, a geographical, social, and culturally homogeneous region, with a clear natural or administrative demarcation. Comarcas are normally smaller than regiones. They are often famous for some reason, for example Ampurdán (Catalonia) for its wines, or La Mancha (Castile) for its cheeses.
