Anthony Siegman (Stanford University) recollected the invention and the early developments of laser sources, Dr. E.h. Paul Seiler (Schramberg) depicted the introduction of the laser into industrial applications, and David Belforte (Editor-in-Chief, Industrial Laser Solution) devoted his talk to the economic history of the laser.

Since 2007 Bad Gastein has established itself as the site of the “Schubertiade” in honour of the composer and recollects the close ties Schubert had with this world famous spa resort.
