- El Morris dancing existe desde hace mucho tiempo, pero sus orígenes son desconocidos. El nombre procede de ‘Moorish’ (árabe). Este baile cobra su principal significado en el May Day (1 de mayo) y en Whitsuntide (Pentecostés). Los Morris dancers son, la mayoría de las veces, grupos de hombres vestidos de blanco; algunos llevan campanillas en las pantorrillas y cada uno de ellos porta un bastón, un pañuelo o una corona en la mano. El baile está lleno de movimiento; los bailarines brincan, dan saltos y golpean el suelo con los pies.
