Zum anderen kann die Rolle und Eignung der seit einigen Jahren auf EU-Ebene eingeführten impact assessments ( Folgenabschätzungen ) kritisch hinterfragt werden, die vor der Einführung maßgeblicher politischer Regelungen – so auch der Biokraftstoffpolitiken – durchgeführt werden müssen.
Vor dem Hintergrund der skizzierten hochgradig diversen Positionen und Meinungen zur Wirkung und Reichweite der Nachhaltigkeitspolitik bzw. -instrumentierung für die Biokraftstoffproduktion ergibt sich die wissenschaftliche Herausforderung, hier einen Beitrag zur Klärung zu leisten.
