Parallel zu laufenden Grundlagenerhebungen ( Standortskartierung, Waldinventur, Biotopkartierung ) wurden die notwendigen Maßnahmen in Begehungen mit Fachleuten festgelegt.
Dabei wurden flächenscharf und flächendeckend Entwicklungsziele erarbeitet.Als Leitbild dienten auch Ergebnisse von Vergleichsuntersuchungen aus dem Urwaldgebiet Rothwald/NÖ.
Der vorliegende Waldmanagementplan wurde vom Fachbereich Wald- und Wildtiermanagement gemeinsam mit dem Fachbereich Naturraum und Naturschutz der Nationalpark Gesäuse GmbH sowie der LIFE-Projektkoordination erstellt.

The general approach is also based on results of comparable surveys and investigations carried out in the Rothwald virgin forest in Lower Austria.
