Anstelle exotischer Leichtbaumaterialien verwendeten die Opel-Designer hohle Rahmenteile aus Pressstahl, die ebenfalls wenig wiegen und dabei robust, flexibel und einfach herzustellen sind.
Im Jahr des 150-jährigen Bestehens der Marke ließen sich die Konstrukteure dabei auch von einem historischen Fahrzeug inspirieren, dem Opel-Motorrad Motoclub 500 von 1928.
