www.manuscript-cultures.uni-hamburg.deEine kurze Einführung auf der zweiten Seite erläutert, dass der Text in Kimrima verfasst ist, der Varietät des Swahili, die an der Küste von Tanganjika – dem zeitgenössischen Festland-Tansania – mit Tanga als Zentrum, gesprochen wird ( vgl. Abb. 2 ).
Laut dem Kolophon auf der letzten Seite wurde die Niederschrift des Werks am Freitag, den 7. Januar 1957 abgeschlossen.
Das Manuskript befindet sich im Besitz von Herrn Zuheri Ali bin Hemed Al-Buhry (geb. 1944), einem pensionierten Fluglotsen, der in Tanga lebt.

According to the colophon on the last page, the writing was finished on Friday, 7 January 1957.
The manuscript is in the custody of Mr Zuheri Ali bin Hemed Al-Buhry (b. 1944), a retired air-traffic controller living in Tanga.

Die älteste Eintragung in der Handschrift ist der von dem Illuminator und Kopisten Ioan hinterlassene Kolophon (siehe Abb. 2).
Er teilt uns mit, dass die Handschrift von dem Kantor Matej in Auftrag gegeben wurde, dem Geistlichen, der die Choral-Gottesdienste der berühmten Hagia-Sophia-Kirche in Serdica (heutiges Sofia, Bulgarien) leitete.

The oldest inscription in the manuscript is the colophon left by the illuminator and scribe, Ioan (see Fig.2).
He tells us that the manuscript was commissioned by Precentor Matej, the cleric who directed the choral services of the famous Holy Sophia Church in Serdica (present-day Sofia, Bulgaria).
