Für sein Projekt Be Now Here ( 2000 ) gab Naimark Panoramaaufnahmen aus den Städten Jerusalem, Dubrovnik, Timbuktu und Angkor im ZKM | Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie Karlsruhe als navigierbare Panoramaprojektionen wieder und verhalf dem Betrachter so zu einer „ immersiven “ Wahrnehmung der dargestellten Orte.
Naimark studierte kybernetische Systeme und beschäftigt sich seit den 1970er Jahren mit Kinematografie, interaktiven Systemen und immersiven Projektionen.
Konservatorische Maßnahmen Die 1991 produzierte Installation Karlsruhe Moviemap wurde zwischen 2006 und 2008 durch das ZKM und Michael Naimark grundlegend überarbeitet.
