Die vom Verein Forum österreichischer Film veranstaltete „ originale “ Diagonale fand schließlich von 3. – 7.3.2004 in Graz statt.
Im Zuge einer Neustrukturierung bestellte die Generalversammlung der Diagonale auf Vorschlag des Diagonale-Beirates Ende April 2004 das Dreierteam Birgit Flos ( Intendanz ) , Robert Buchschwenter ( Geschäftsführung Produktion ) und Georg Tillner ( Geschäftsführung Finanzen ) zur neuen Diagonale-Leitung .
Nach Ausscheiden von Buchschwenter und Tillner übernahm Oliver Testor im Mai 2005 die Geschäftsführung des Festivals bis 2009.

In the course of restructuring , and upon the recommendation of the Diagonale advisory committee , a three-person management team was appointed in April 2004 : Birgit Flos ( Director ) , Robert Buchschwenter ( Production Manager ) and Georg Tillner ( Finance Manager ) .
Following the resignation of Buchschwenter and Tillner, Oliver Testor took over commercial management of the festival until 2009.
