Zwar bereitete die Oktoberrevolution von 1917 dieser russischen Herrlichkeit im Süden Frankreichs ein Ende.Doch in der Folge flohen nicht wenige verarmte Adlige aus Russland nach Nizza, das prachtvolle Gotteshaus wurde zur spirituellen Heimat dieser Exilgemeinde.
