Die Europäische Behörde für Lebensmittelsicherheit ( EFSA ) hat eine öffentliche Konsultation über den Leitlinienentwurf zur Bewertung von Umweltrisiken ( environmental risk assessment – ERA ) genetisch veränderter Tiere gestartet .
Der Leitfaden konzentriert sich auf genetisch veränderte Fische, Insekten, Säugetiere und Vögel und beschreibt die spezifischen Datenanforderungen und die Methodik für die Umweltrisikobewertung von genetisch veränderter Tieren, sollten in Zukunft entsprechende Anträge auf Marktzulassung in der Europäischen Union (EU) gestellt werden.

The European Food Safety Authority ( EFSA ) has launched a public consultation on its draft guidance for the environmental risk assessment ( ERA ) of GM animals .
The document, which focuses on GM fish, insects, mammals and birds, outlines the specific data requirements and methodology for the ERA of GM animals should applications be submitted for market authorisation in the European Union (EU) in the future.

Im Januar 2013 wurde ihm der Titel „ außerplanmäßiger Professor “ am Fachbereich Biologie der WWU Münster verliehen.
