Im Teilprojekt „Dynamically Consistent Coarse-Grained Models“ entwickeln die CSI-Forscher bestimmte Näherungsverfahren (coarse-graining) von atomistischen molekularen Simulationen.

Im interdisziplinären Teilprojekt „Inverse Problems in Coarse-Grained Particle Simulations“ geht es um die Ableitung von Teilchenmodellen von bekannten Eigenschaften molekularer Systeme.
Ziel ist es, aus den durch die Simulation auf atomarer Ebene gewonnenen Informationen über ein System (Wirkung) auf die zugrundeliegenden Wechselwirkungspotentiale (Ursache) zwischen den mit Coarse-Graining genäherten Teilchen zurückzuschließen.

The cross-disciplinary project “Inverse Problems in Coarse-Grained Particle Simulations” focuses on the derivation of particle models from known properties of molecular systems.
The goal is to convert information (Effect) gathered by simulation at the atomic level into fundamental interaction potentials (Cause) between coarse-grained particles.

In dem konkreten Projekt geht es um die Bestimmung effektiver Potentiale für vergröberte Partikelsimulationen mit Techniken aus der Theorie und Numerik inverser Probleme.
