Development Deutschland geht 2006 an das Institut für Kraftfahrzeuge Aachen ( ika ) RWTH Aachen University.
Die Förderung wurde an das Thema „ Traffic situation and road infrastructure adaptive ACC ” vergeben , welches sich mit einer innovativen Erweiterung des adaptiven Tempomaten ( ACC -Adaptive Cruise Control ) beschäftigt .
Heutige ACC-Systeme verfügen über einen Abstands-sensor, der den Abstand und die Relativgeschwindigkeit zum Vordermann misst und diese Informationen in Kombination mit Fahrdynamikgrößen für einen automati-schen Eingriff in die Motorsteuerung und elektronische Bremsmodulation nutzt.
