Walker B koordiniert ein Metallatom und aktiviert ein Wassermolekül; beide werden für die Hydrolyse gebraucht.
Ein Vergleich der hier gezeigten ADP-Form des Enzyms mit der ATP-Form eines homologen Enzyms läßt es wahrscheinlich sein, daß die Helix mit dem Walker A-Motif sich bei der Bindung von ATP um 3 Å in Richtung des Proteinzentrums bewegt.
