Prof. Dr. Volkhard Helms
Volkhard Helms has been Professor of Bioinformatics in the Center of Bioinformatics Saar since 2003 and is also a member of the CBI Saar Directorate.
He studied physics in Freiburg and Munich and obtained his PhD at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory in Heidelberg in 1996.

Volkhard Helms ist seit 2003 Professor für Bioinformatik am Zentrum für Bioinformatik Saar und Mitglied der Zentrumsleitung.
Er studierte Physik in Freiburg und München und schloß 1996 seine Dissertation am Europäischen Laboratorium für Molekularbiologie in Heidelberg ab.

www.webcamgalore.comThe site expansion is focused on biomaterial banking in connection with the automation of in vitro cultures of animal and human cells – which is indispensable for this purpose – as well as molecular and cellular diagnostics for research and industrial applications in biotechnology and medicine.
The basis for this was created by two large cryobanks:"Eurocryo Saar" and the "Cryorepository" of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
www.ibmt.fraunhofer.deDer Standortausbau ist auf das Biomaterialbanking in Verbindung mit der dafür unabdingbaren Automatisierung der In-vitro-Kultur tierischer und humaner Zellen sowie der molekularen und zellulären Diagnostik für die Forschung und industrielle Anwendung in der Biotechnologie und Medizin ausgerichtet.
Die Grundlage hierfür legten die beiden Kryogroßbanken »Eurocryo Saar« und das »Cryorepository« der Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
